FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Clear answers make the next step feel lighter.

Families often begin exploring care during a period of uncertainty. These answers explain the basics and help you prepare for a personal conversation.

01What is non-medical home care?

Non-medical home care provides assistance with everyday activities such as companionship, personal routines, meals, light housekeeping, mobility, reminders, and respite. It does not replace skilled nursing, medical treatment, therapy, or emergency services.

02How do we know which services are needed?

You do not need to decide before contacting us. We begin with a conversation about what is changing, what feels difficult, and what support would make daily life easier.

03Can care begin with only a few hours?

Scheduling options and minimum visit length depend on caregiver availability and company policy. We will tell you the current minimum clearly before you commit to anything.

04Can the care plan change?

Yes. Care needs and routines change. Contact us when an adjustment is needed and we will review the plan and the schedule with you.

05How are caregivers selected?

Every caregiver completes a Live Scan fingerprint background check through the California Department of Justice and the FBI, and holds current CPR and First Aid certification, before they are placed with anyone. Beyond that, matching considers experience, availability, communication style, and fit with the needs and preferences of the client. Forever Young is a licensed home care organization, HCO# 304700547, and our caregivers are covered by our insurance while they are in your home.

06What if the caregiver does not feel like the right fit?

Tell us. Trust and comfort matter. We will listen, understand the concern, and discuss the most appropriate next step.

07What if my loved one has dementia or Alzheimer's?

Non-medical support may help with companionship, routines, safety awareness, personal care, meals, and family respite. The plan should reflect the situation of the individual and work alongside guidance from qualified healthcare professionals.

08Will our family receive updates?

Communication expectations are set in the care plan, including who may receive information and which changes or concerns should be reported.

09Do caregivers administer medication?

No. Forever Young provides non-medical medication reminders only, within the approved scope of the company and applicable law.

10Is home care the same as home health care?

No. Home care generally supports everyday living and personal routines. Home health care is usually ordered by a medical professional and delivered by licensed clinicians for skilled medical needs.

11What happens in an emergency?

Caregivers follow company emergency procedures and call emergency services when appropriate. Forever Young is not an emergency response provider. If someone may be in immediate danger, call 911.

12How quickly can care begin?

Timing depends on the consultation, completed paperwork, service needs, schedule, caregiver availability, and applicable requirements. We will give you a realistic answer rather than a promise we cannot keep.
